PDF To Book

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. Who we are and acceptance of these terms

PDF To Book ("we", "us", the "Service") is an online service that converts PDF documents into EPUB e-books using automated OCR and AI processing. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

You upload a PDF, the Service extracts its content through optical character recognition and reconstructs it as an EPUB file using AI language models. Conversion is an automated, best-effort process: output quality depends on the source document, and the result may contain errors, omissions, or formatting differences from the original. You are responsible for reviewing converted files before relying on them.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Authentication is provided through our identity provider; you must provide accurate account information.

4. Credits, payments, and refunds

Conversions are paid with prepaid credits. Credits are purchased through our payment processor (Stripe) and consumed per page converted, at the per-page rate shown on our pricing page.

  • If a conversion fails because of an error on our side, the credits charged for that conversion are automatically returned to your balance.
  • Credits are personal, non-transferable, and have no cash value. Except where required by applicable law, purchased credits are non-refundable once consumed.
  • If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on purchased credits that you have not yet used. By starting a conversion you request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for the credits consumed by that conversion.

Prices may change; changes never affect credits you have already purchased.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents you upload and to the converted output. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your documents solely to operate the Service — including processing by the OCR and AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy. We claim no ownership over your content and do not use it to train AI models.

You warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to the documents you upload, and that converting them does not infringe copyright or other third-party rights. You are solely responsible for the content you process through the Service.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not upload content that is illegal or that you have no right to process.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or probe the Service.
  • Do not use automated means to access the Service outside its intended interface.
  • Do not resell or provide the Service to third parties without our consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. To report copyright infringement, contact us at support@pdftobook.ai.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do our best to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data in source documents that you have not kept copies of. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms. Upon account deletion, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy; any unused credits are forfeited unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice through the Service or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you reside, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
